A forest of trees grows upon the tracks of a disused urban railway line. The arresting man-made structures of the bridge and viaduct, overtaken as nature reclaims them, speak to the temporary nature of all that once seemed solid and eternal. I really feel the scale of these pieces of Victorian infrastructure when walking underneath them. This work attempts to capture the dampness of the thick, stone walls, and the weight of the rusting iron bridge beneath the lightness of the delicate trees swaying in the wind above.
